Nursing Assistant

1. Learn about a career as a Nursing Assistant.  Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to attend a Zoom Information Session to learn about working as a nursing assistant and how our training program at Mission College works. A Zoom link will be provided here prior to the meeting.
2. Apply. Submit an application during the application window. A link for the application form will be provided here prior to the application window.
3. Start your career. Qualified applicants will be accepted on a lottery system.

Accepted applicants must meet the following requirements before the program start date.

• Attendance at a mandatory orientation meeting on Zoom, October 21 at 7:00 pm.
• Physical Health Clearance to include tuberculosis screening, immunizations, and physical and emotional fitness for work as a nurse assistant.
• Criminal background check. Appointments for LiveScan fingerprinting will be available January 13, 14, and 15. If you have been convicted of any offense other than a minor violation, you may not qualify to be certified as a Nurse Assistant. Each case is reviewed and determined by the California Department of Public Health.
• Purchase of required books, skills kit (order deadline January 15), and uniform.
• Attendance at a mandatory on-campus meeting on January 27, 2026, at 11:00 am to complete state forms
