Associate Degrees for Transfer are special degrees built for transfer students in collaboration with the CSU campuses. They are meant to make the transfer process to CSU quicker and easier.
Transfer Degrees: Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T) & Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T)
California Community College students that earn an AA-T or AS-T are guaranteed:
- Priority admission over all other transfer students when applying to a local or non-impacted campus, or
- Priority admission consideration to an impacted campus when applying to a CSU baccalaureate (B.A.) degree program that has been deemed similar to the student's community college area of emphasis.
Mission College currently offers AA-T and AS-T degrees in 20 different majors.

Benefits of an ADT
- An associate’s degree from Mission College;
- Will not be held to any local graduation requirements;
- Qualifies for a Certificate of Achievement in Transfer Studies in either CSUGE-B,IGETC for CSU, or IGETC for UC;
- Will satisfy lower division general education and major requirements for transfer;
- Will not be required to complete more than 60 CSU transferable units to earn the AA-T/ AS-T.
CSU Admission Benefits
- Guaranteed admission to the CSU system as a junior;
- Guaranteed admission to a campus in the CSU system;
- Priority admission consideration to a local CSU;
- Priority admission consideration to a “similar” major.
Benefits After Transfer
- Cannot be required to complete more than 60 units after transfer;
- Prepared to start upper division coursework at the CSU;
- Cannot be required to repeat courses similar to those completed at CCC.
Be sure to check if your ADT at Mission is considered similar to your major at the CSUs you will apply to. In order to get the benefits of an ADT, your major at Mission and your major after transfer must be approved as similar at the CSU you attend.
