Promise Program

The Mission Promise Program serves first-year, degree-seeking students who want to graduate from Mission College within three years. The program provides academic counseling, free tuition & books, career exploration opportunities, and workshops to support your timely graduation. Please note the Promise Program is no longer accepting students for the 2026-27 Academic Year.

As a participant in the Mission Promise Program, you will:

Attend College for Free for up to Three Years – Enjoy waived tuition and fees, plus financial support for textbooks and course materials.

Get Personalized Support – Receive dedicated one-on-one guidance from caring program staff every step of the way.
Build Community – Connect with peers through vibrant on-campus events, workshops, and support networks.

Program Expectations

Students accepted into the program are expected to:

Complete a financial aid application each academic year.
Enroll in a minimum of 6 or more units in Fall and Spring while in the program. Enrollment in a full-time load (12 units or 9 units for DSPS students) is strongly recommended.
Maintain academic progress with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
Declare a major within their first year at Mission College.
Create a Comprehensive Student Education Plan during their first year.
Meet regularly with a counselor, as required each semester.
Participate in assigned program activities, workshops, and tutoring.
Register for English and Math courses in the first year, as outlined in the Student Education Plan.
Enrollment in Winter and Summer terms is not required; however, tuition will be covered.

Eligibility Information

To qualify for the Mission Promise Program, students must:

Be committed to completing your degree, certificate, or transfer goals at Mission College within three years.
Be a California resident or have attended a California high school, GED program, or adult continuation program.
Be a first-time college student (college courses taken while in high school do not count as prior college enrollment).
