I chose Mission College because of the excellent reputation for its Intensive English program and STEM courses. Mission prepared me for the rigorous academic work at UC Berkeley.
I'm the son of a physics teacher in Vietnam, and I've always dreamed of being a physicist.
I started at the Institute for International Studies (IIS) where I improved my English skills and moved quickly to the degree program. I even earned a spot on the dean’s list!
In the spring of 2015, I graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. My father traveled from Vietnam to attend the graduation. It was the first time I saw him since my departure from Vietnamin 2011, and the reunion so rewarding.
Now, I'm finishing up my internship at Physics Materials Lab at UC Berkeley and preparing to go to a graduate school to earn a master’s degree. When things get tough, I visit Mission College to get reenergized. Mission College is my home away from home.
