Vocational Nurse (VN) Program

The Spring 2022 (cohort) application period** opened October 1, 2021 at 11 a.m.; closed October 29, 2021 at 3 p.m.

** Program availability is contingent on COVID-19 restrictions and dependent on the maintenance of clinical sites. (Spring 2022 cohort may be changed to start in Fall 2022.)

Health Occupations at Mission College

Mission College offers several areas of study resulting in certificates and degrees in the field of Health Occupations. These include:

  • Nursing Assistant (NA)
  • Community Health Worker (non-credit/non-degree based)
  • Vocational Nurse (VN)
  • Registered Nursing (LVN-RN)

Each program is unique with its own required prerequisites, course work, labs, and clinical studies.

No recency requirement for Science courses. Science courses are NOT required to be within five years. Beginning Spring 2015 entry into the PT and VN program will require a CNA certificate.

About Our Nursing Programs
Military Personnel

Individuals who have held Military Health Care Occupations, specifically: Basic Medical Technician Corpsman (Navy HM or Air Force BMTCP), Army Health Care Specialist (68W Army Medic) or Air Force Independent Duty Medical Technician (IMDT 4N0X1C) may choose between two acceptance options at Mission College Health Occupations Programs.
