Destiny has been a part of the early childhood education field since 2008. As a child, Destiny knew she wanted to work with children. Her experience of having kind, caring and energetic teachers who made learning fun inspired her to do the same. She appreciated the positive impact that her educators had on her and wanted to create that same safe space for others.
As she began her role in teaching as an aid, she quickly observed and was affected by the lack of support from administrative teams. Just as children need guidance and encouragement, teachers do also. She then worked hard to grow from an aid to a master teacher. She had the opportunity to step into a role where she was able to successfully create professional relationships with staff to help strengthen their techniques and share new teaching strategies.
Destiny has experience in teaching every age group from 0-5 years old. In addition to teaching, she has been a part of an administrative team as an education coordinator and knows what it takes to support a successful child development center. She continues to further her education through additional learning opportunities.
Her commitment to the Mission College Child Development Center is to ensure that each part of her program is functioning at its fullest potential with the best interest of the families and students being served in mind. She firmly believes that educators are the heart of any learning space. Her hope is to inspire students to continue their growth and knowledge in early childhood education!
